Your Discovery Flight, step by step

Before you fly
It starts on the ramp with the preflight inspection — the same one every flight here starts with. Your instructor walks the airplane, names what they are checking and why, and covers what the flight is going to look like from engine start to shutdown.

In the air
Climbing out, your instructor levels off — and the controls pass to you. Your airplane, for now, with an instructor on a second set of controls the whole time. Turns, climbs, descents, and the coastline or the lakes underneath, depending on which way the day sends you.

Back on the ramp
After shutdown the flight gets logged as instruction received — that time counts toward a certificate whenever you decide to go for one. Then a debrief: what happened up there, what a training plan would look like, and what it would cost. That is where it ends unless you say otherwise.
